Koliba Expo Bratislava

The setting and atmosphere are lovely, easily 5/5, but lunch was only 3/5 for me. The food looks delicious in the menu photos 😂, though the taste didn’t match and the price felt too high for what we got. There’s plenty of room to improve, maybe with a different cook. It’d be a shame if things stayed this way.

We had to pay cash because they weren’t taking cards. They said their bank hadn’t fixed the card machine for three weeks and they were still waiting. I had to drive to the nearest ATM, find parking, withdraw money, then return to pay. Very inconvenient and a bad experience. The waitress also mixed up our order, which can happen, and the music was total rubbish. The food wasn’t worth the pretty high price either.

We had a lovely stay for the anniversary, and the area and quality seemed worth the money. Still, it looked like staff had taken €150 from us. I didn’t report it because I didn’t have time to hear that there was no CCTV in the rooms, or that staff knowing where we’d been and for how long was only suspicion. I left it alone and couldn’t even get mad, but I’d bring my own safe if I came back.

The waiter’s “Zbohom” as we left summed it up. Never again, farewell Koliba Expo! We’d planned a short soup stop during a hike in Male Karpaty, but it turned into the opposite: even after reminding the waiter, it took an hour to get served. At least getting the bill also took a long time.
