Wild Elephants Hostel

It’s a social, well-kept hostel that felt comfortable right away, whether you’re travelling alone or with friends. The relaxed, welcoming atmosphere made the stay for me. KP was especially kind and attentive, and really made an effort to help everyone feel at home. I’d recommend it.

The hostel was friendly and it was easy to strike up a conversation with people. I was worried that a party hostel might mean no sleep, but the noise was actually fine. Bad nights people mentioned may depend on who’s sharing your room, which can happen anywhere. The rooms were nice, though very warm, with no windows you can open. There are lockers, but you need your own lock. If you forget one, there’s a Tedi around the corner where you can buy one for €2. I had a lovely stay and would go again.

The hostel put on a string of memorable activities: hide and seek at IKEA after a few drinks, river parties, pub crawls, and after-parties in the basement. The staff made the nights fun, and Andy deserves a mention for cooking tasty dinners that were affordable for everyone.

I’m usually not a fan of party hostels, but this one has a really quiet "mild" section. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, without feeling crowded, and I had a good time meeting people. I even joined the pub crawl, something I hadn’t done in about ten years. I travel by bicycle, and they had a good place to store it. The volunteers were fantastic too. I’d arranged for UPS to collect a package after I left, but it didn’t go smoothly. Freddy at reception kindly stepped in and helped me out. Thank you!
