Hotel Koliba

It's a great location for being close to the lake and a festival, but the park music went on past midnight, so it gets pretty noisy if you want to sleep. Service was great, everyone was kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. I'd only change the mattresses, which felt a bit thin.

I stop here whenever I'm traveling through Europe because it's affordable and has a nice atmosphere. The rooms are basic but always clean, with large bathrooms. Breakfast and the restaurant are great. Staff don't seem to speak much English, probably because most visitors are from SK/CZ, but Google Translate gets you by :-)

Prices were affordable and the waiters were courteous and spoke English. The interior is great, with a really wide choice of Slovak dishes. The food could be a little better, but what you get is good for what you expect.

The free fitness room has good equipment, you just need to ask for the keys. We visited in early spring, so although there is a pool, we couldn't try it. Our room was big and spacious, with another room holding the TV and double bed. The bathroom was nice and had everything, including towels and shower gel we'd forgotten. The shower was so good I could've stayed in it for hours. We didn't try the kitchen after being told they couldn't cook very well, so I can't comment on it. I was hoping to see the lake from our room, but the view was terrible. We had to speak English around the hotel, though most of Senec can speak Hungarian. It was a great experience overall. I'd recommend it, and we'll definitely come back in summer.
