A lovely host, a good breakfast, and a great place to stay.

The staff were good.

The mosquitoes were the one thing that got to me. There were loads of them, and after an hour we gave up sitting on the terrace in the evening. I can’t really blame the owner or the pension for that. The location of Pension, also called "Maly dvor", is really good. It’s around 10 minutes to Vadaš swimming pool and the pedestrian area in the city center, then two minutes more to the bridge over the Danube. You can park on the grass right outside or by the cultural center, about 50 meters away. The place is hidden by two big trees when you arrive, but I actually liked that. The owner was friendly and helpful. Our room was fine for sleeping, especially for this price range. Ours didn’t have air conditioning, though they were already working on getting it, and the other rooms did. In summer heat, it’s really needed. The guesthouse feels a bit old and has some slightly quirky decor, but nothing that caused a real problem. Breakfast was standard for a guesthouse like this. A very nice woman kept the food and drinks topped up, so there was nothing to complain about. Good value for money, and I’d stay again next time I visit Štúrovo.
