Keren Hotel

Keren Hotel is very central, and the price feels fair for the quality. It’s also not far from the airport. I’ve stayed several times, and the rooms have been clean and tidy, with friendly staff and really nice food. Some rooms are spacious and have everything you need, while others are very basic. Breakfast is good, and the staff are amazing.

Keren Hotel is downtown Juba, near the offices of international organizations, and breakfast is included. Fresh fruit is limited in Juba, so the juice served to guests is powdered citrus orange juice. Fresh orange juice is available, but they charge for it separately.

There’s an open-air restaurant at Keren Hotel with Ethiopian, fast food, and local options, plus a bar. Across the street, a mini mall has a supermarket and an Indian restaurant that I think serves the best Indian food in Juba. WiFi is available and moderately strong in most areas. The hotel offers affordable, secure accommodation in central Juba. Rooms are clean and air conditioned, with toiletries and daily water provided. Breakfast is fair, with a moderate selection. The staff are friendly and quick to help.

Their Ethiopian food is worth trying. It’s a peaceful place for dinner, whether you’re by yourself or with friends. You can enjoy the food and background music without feeling intruded on. I do wish they had a separate smoking area.
