We had a wonderful time in El Tunco, and Posada Luna is easy to recommend. The town center and beach are only a few minutes away on foot, and there’s a small shared kitchen with a water dispenser that came in handy. Our room had what we needed: a private bathroom, comfortable bed, and good air conditioning. The large balcony overlooking the river was the best part, with lots of birds to watch. They’re building another structure in the pool area right now. The workers were considerate, with no loud music or noisy machines in the mornings, so it barely affected us. The pool was still available as usual. Also, try the pupusas at Pupusería El Milagro just around the corner!

The balcony, hammock, river, and birds were the highlights for me. It’s a lovely small hotel in Playa El Tunco. The rooms are simple, but very clean and well equipped, and I had no trouble with the functional bathroom. The air conditioning blows cold, which is essential here.

The staff, service, and location helped make up for the rooms, which aren’t the best, and a hotel that needs renovation. Just remember this is a strip where most of the partying happens, so it won’t be quiet. Keep in mind too, this is El Salvador, not America.

The location and pool are nice, though the rooms are very run down. The woman working during the day was a big help. But now it’s 1:40 a.m., and the night staff are in the courtyard blasting music and getting drunk with friends while my daughter and I are wide awake. I’ve traveled and lived all over Central America and have never experienced a hotel situation that felt so unsafe and unprofessional.

That balcony over the river was the best part, and the place was so peaceful. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are great, and the location is perfect. I loved staying here and would come back to posada luna if I’m in el tunco again.
