Hotel Marela

The place looks dated, but it gets the job done. I spent a week there on vacation visiting friends nearby. Inside was clean, and the breakfast was fresh and good each time.

I left around 9 a.m. after telling the front desk I wanted a refund for the days I wouldn't be using. We'd paid for six days when we arrived, and I said I was willing to pay for one day, but the staff member said the card machine had already been closed. There was no manager around to discuss it, and they didn't refund anything. The customer service was bad, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. The bathroom was dirty and the taps were scaled. Hall noise was loud, too. In the evening there was no hot water for a shower, not even lukewarm water from the tap, and the next morning there still wasn't any.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a homemade buffet of authentic Salvadoran food. The staff were so friendly, and the whole building, including my room, was spotless and looked freshly remodeled. I had an incredible stay at Hotel Marela and would absolutely come back. Muchísimas gracias a todos!

We only needed one night after deciding to extend our time in El Salvador, and found this place while we were there. It turned out much better than I expected. The staff were friendly and professional, and everything was super clean. The beds are a little hard, but everything else was good.
