Raks Thai Resort

The bungalow was lovely, and the garden with its swimming pool was amazing and clearly well looked after. The guests didn't seem to get the same care. We arrived at 8:30pm after booking a few days earlier, but no one was there to greet us. The receptionist was eating across the road, came over slowly, and showed us the room without explaining the area, hotel services, or how they could help. I had messaged when booking to ask for a little honeymoon attention, but nothing was done. You might get a towel changed if you track down housekeeping, which isn't easy. Reception was empty all day, and the restaurant was closed. It was low season, but the resort was open and should have been operating. The resort isn't too far from the beach, though I'd suggest renting a motorbike to explore all of Ao Nang. The place is beautiful and inexpensive, but you'd need to handle your holiday arrangements yourself.

We stayed in December 2017 and found it fine, nothing special. The huts and surrounding area looked lovely, and the beach was a short walk away. But the stadium across the road got very noisy at times. Breakfast was basically toast with jam or cereal, and while it was okay, I wouldn't stay here again.

The pool was fantastic, the rooms stayed cool, the AC was okay, and the staff were really friendly, though their English wasn't very good. The main problem was that the bedsheets weren't changed daily.

A wonderful place, with a perfect, very clean pool and such lovely staff. There was a cute little girl named Pam too. Don't hesitate to go.
