ABCYQ Hotel

We spent four nights here with friends, and the stay was very unpleasant, not worth the price. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they fixed the leaking toilet spray right away, but there were a lot of problems. The room was much smaller than the pictures suggested, and the old extra bed was deflated when we slept on it. The sink leaked, the toilet clogged, and the roof had a bubbly sound from time to time, though I’m not sure what caused it. Wi-Fi was sometimes slow, and the bathroom shelf was too small.

The room can feel a bit small, but the price is affordable and should be satisfactory if that’s what you’re after. The room is cleaned every day if you want that. It’s very near Pratunam morning market and close to Platinum mall. Be prepared for the street to get extremely busy in the morning with vendors, taxis and shops, so walking through can feel like a maze. If low cost and location matter, it could suit you, though there are hotels at the same price on streets other than 19th street.

The air conditioner was freezing all night and stuck at 16 degrees Celsius, so I couldn’t sleep well. Mosquitoes were in the lobby too. The room was small, the floor slippery and the bed dirty. There are five rooms on a level, very close together, with no soundproofing. The hotel uses old-fashioned keys you have to insert to open and close the doors. It’s deep inside an alley and hard to find by taxi. Driving in takes 10 minutes, then getting back out to the main road takes another 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The lobby didn’t look much like a hotel, with goods and cartons around and space for workers to pack goods.

The location is really good, but the room was old and dirty. I found two live cockroaches. There was no TV remote or hair dryer, and water dripped from the air conditioner.
