AREA81 HIDEOUT Hostel Khaosan

The staff and volunteers were so lively, kind, and fun, and there were activities going on all the time, so I never had a dull day. This is easily the best hostel I’ve stayed at during my two-month trip. Love you all ❤️ I’ll definitely come back.

I had a great stay here. It was comfortable, clean, and inexpensive, and the staff were really nice and helpful, especially may. Definitely recommend :-)

I had a mixed experience. The space was cool, and so were the Japanese owners, but most staff seemed tired, irritable, snappy, and irresponsible. One young woman manager treated me with disdain as soon as I arrived. Later, her female friends bullied me out, and their male counterparts threw me out without hearing my side. Too many men have been treated like scum there, unfairly. The Myanmar workers were excellent, and I liked the little Japanese businesses attached to the place, including a cafe and a clever 'weed bar'. The THC shakes are awesome and very different. George, the bar manager from Guatemala, sat around drinking all day and only opened the bar when he felt like it. A few Karens ruined the experience for me. I lost half my gear, including cables and Go-Pro equipment, and at one point they couldn’t find my passport and accused me of hiding it. I’d highly recommend it for female solo travelers. For guys, try Bedstation across the street or Mad Monkeys.

The rooms and showers were nice, and the accommodation itself was really good. There’s a relaxed bar and chill area where people can socialize. The staff were incredible, especially meeeey and teresa ;). They helped with everything I needed and were super friendly. Definitely recommend ❤️ *Assisted by chat GPT but totally true* 🫶
