Hits Hostel

The staff were easy to talk to, friendly, and accommodating. Beds were cheap but clean and decent. It’s close to Khaosan road without being so close that the nights get noisy, so you can avoid the rambunctious revelry. There were four of us and I booked a whole room. Since it was available, they moved us to a five-person room on the second floor, which meant fewer stairs. Breakfast was okay: bread and spreads, cereal, and eggs cooked however you ask. They also let us use their plates and utensils for takeaway, then wouldn’t even let us wash the kitchenware ourselves.

The hostel is in a great area, with a local market open during the day nearby and Khaosan street just a five-minute walk away for nightlife. The staff were kind and helped me book a bus ticket. Still, it’s quite expensive compared with other places. The included breakfast wasn’t very good, and I wouldn’t use the laundry service: it costs a lot and wasn’t very good. I had just a T-shirt and shorts, but the receptionist said they counted them as 1 kg together. That made no sense!

A++ clean hostel. We stayed two nights, and on Saturday the staff invited us to have dinner with them. It was delicious. The front desk was helpful and honest about train tickets, recommending we buy them directly at the station to save money.

The room was a four-person dorm instead of a ten-person one, though I didn’t get much time to meet people. The rooms were fine and the beds comfortable. We weren’t allowed to bring food in, and the social area out front was average. The big mattress was a nice touch, as was the free breakfast.
