iCheck inn Nana by Aspira

The room had a good, comfortable mattress, and it did a pretty good job keeping out the loud sounds and music. I slept well. I was surprised, though, to find clubs, prostitutes, and a nuru massage shop all around the hotel. I wanted a place near a BTS station, and it was my mistake not to look more closely at the nearby attractions. If that's the scene you're after, this is the place for you. This isn't somewhere I'd bring kids.

I've stayed here many times over the years and plan to keep coming back. It's a friendly little budget hotel, and for its price the location is excellent if you expect to spend your time out and just want a clean room. Nana BTS is very close, and Soi 11, the Nana area, and Asok are a short walk away. The rooms are comfortable for the price, with a clean bed, decent bathroom, hot water, fluffy towels, curtains that block the light, and air conditioning that's usually fine, though sometimes noisy. Reception is excellent. I usually see the same woman, and after a few visits she recognized me and became very friendly. The location has drawbacks. Getting there means walking down soi 7/1, crowded with bars and massage places. If you're a man on your own, you'll be hassled a lot, and it can feel relentless. If you're used to that, it's no problem; if not, the 'girls' at the end of the Soi holding menus may make you uncomfortable. Couples will be left alone. Taxi access can also be tricky, since some drivers won't go down the narrow Soi. Lower-floor rooms on the soi 7/1 side are noisy, so booking a premium room for not much more may be a good idea.

My stay was good overall, but the street has adult massage places with happy-ending services close by, so this hotel seems better suited to bachelors than families. They also collect a security deposit before check-in and return the full amount at check-out.

For the price, this is a clean, decent hotel. The beer bars on the soi outside can make the nightlife a little noisy. It didn't bother me too much, though families might not find it the best fit.
