Baan Mai Guest House

The room was spacious and very clean, the staff were friendly, and the location beside Bang Na BTS was handy. But the hard mattress and squeaky metal bed frame overshadowed all of that. I usually prefer a firmer mattress than most people back in the UK, but this one left me less rested than when I went to bed, and I had back pain over the following days. If you’re used to a mattress that gives even a little when you sit or lie down, you may struggle. Thai and other Asian guests might be more accustomed to firm beds, but western tourists should keep this in mind before booking.

If you’re working at BITEC, this is a great spot. There’s plenty of tasty food nearby, and the BTS station is less than a five-minute walk away.

Quiet and well located near Bang Na BTS, with motorcycle taxis available from midnight onward. The third-floor room was roomy, and each floor had a good internet connection. They cleaned regularly and topped up things like bath and face towels and bottled water. Great value for the money.

The staff were helpful and accommodating. We arrived around 10:20pm, after the usual check-in closing time, but they let us in because we had told them ahead of time. If you expect to arrive late, notify them first, since they won’t accept late check-ins without advance notice. Ban Mai was quiet, very clean, and relaxing, with no disturbances during our stay. It felt secure too: the doors have extra chain locks and the property gate is locked at night. There’s no parking on site, though a temple about 50 metres away offers spaces for just 50 baht per night. In the room there was a double bed, private bathroom, hair dryer, kettle, two tea cups, two glasses, two complimentary water bottles, a mini fridge, air conditioner, shampoo and body wash. It also had a caged balcony, desk, chair, mirror, and a doorless wardrobe with hangers.
