Bangkok City Inn Hotel

It’s centrally located in Pratunam, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The place is run down and badly needs a major renovation. There was rubbish piled on the street, it smelled, and I saw rats running around. The room was dirty, and the receptionist couldn’t speak English and didn’t seem to care.

We got our room more than an hour after the scheduled check-in, but the hotel wouldn’t give us a late checkout to make up for the delay. The service wasn’t very helpful, and it felt unfair to guests. A very disappointing stay. I hope they improve their customer service and management.

The location worked well for getting around, but cleanliness and service were a real letdown. The bathroom was so dirty I didn't want to sit on the toilet, and I saw several cockroaches on the floor, with some climbing the wall beside the bed. The room was also very dim. I knew this was an older hotel in the city center and wasn't expecting anything modern, but I did expect better hygiene. The reception staff was extremely rude during ordinary check-in, check-out, and breakfast-ticket redemption, even though I wasn't arguing or complaining. Her attitude and gestures reminded me of being dealt with at a government office. I hope management improves the hygiene and maintenance.

I booked five days through an agent, then had to leave early. When I asked for a refund for the nights I wouldn't use, the hotel refused, despite my explanation. At 1,400 baht a night, I found the price shockingly high for what was offered, with no value for money. If your plans change, apparently you won't get a refund for an early departure. Paying up front left me feeling trapped, and the inflexible policy made an already disappointing experience worse. I'd advise looking elsewhere for better value and more reasonable terms.
