The location is the main draw: Baron Residence is on a quiet street and can be reached from both Lad Phrao Soi 130 and Ramkhamhaeng Soi 81. The Saen Saep River Express at Wat Klang Pier and the MRT Yellow Line are both within walking distance. We also enjoyed the well-lit 20-minute canal walk to The Mall Bang Kapi. The hotel is clean and everything works, though the decor is a little dated and the rooms are minimal. Breakfast is simple but covers the basics. Good value if transport links matter to you.

The rooms, towels, and sheets were clean and well maintained, and the place is affordable in a good neighborhood. But our internet kept cutting out, with no backup connection. We were working remotely and needed reliable internet, so this wasn’t suitable for us. It seems fine for a leisure stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it for remote work or a workation.

Basic amenities are provided, and you get what you pay for. The biggest letdown was that we specifically asked to have the room made up, but it wasn’t done on the first night. The nearest BTS is a long way off, though a boat pier is within a 5-10 minute walk.

I booked this hotel for what I thought would be a short first stay in Bangkok, then ended up staying the whole week. I’d wondered if I’d chosen the wrong place, but it turned out to be legit and worth every penny. I’ll stay here again next time. I like that it’s practical, with a 7-11 on the ground floor.

It’s quiet, and the room was clean and good, with a balcony and a nice view. The Mall Bang Kapi is nearby, and there are lots of sidewalk vendors if you wander around. The receptionist speaks English, which was a plus for us.
