Centara Watergate Pavilion Hotel Bangkok

The lobby service was a letdown. After a long, tiring day in Bangkok, I lay down briefly on a sofa to rest, and a staff member told me not to sleep there and to sit upright. It felt rude. At check-in, they also asked for a cash security deposit. We managed, but card payment would have been easier. The property and amenities felt luxurious, and the location was great for shopping and exploring Bangkok. Rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained. Breakfast was a highlight, with a spread I really enjoyed and plenty of choices. The service could be more guest-friendly to match the luxury feel.

The room was clean, the air-conditioning worked fine, and hot water was available any time with good pressure. Housekeeping was great and polite. Staff were friendly throughout, including the team at Level 1, who always joked with me when I picked up my Grab food. The drop-off point is at Level 1, on the same level as the shopping mall’s back entrance, while check-in is on Level 9. The location is superb, right above a mall, with 7E a few blocks away on the same side of the street and Pratinum shopping mall within easy walking distance. There’s also a very good massage parlor downstairs at Level 1. Check-in was efficient and friendly. This was the first hotel that followed my special request on Trip.com without me having to repeat it at check-in. I got a room away from the lift, and a staff member later brought an extra pillow, another request I add by default to all my Trip.com hotel bookings. Amazing attention to small details. I had an amazing stay this time in Bangkok.

The location was fantastic for food and shopping. Big C, CentralWorld, and Platinum Mall are all walkable, along with local favorites like Pratunam chicken rice, boat noodles, Soi 19 wanton noodles, and the night market. Other shopping areas are easy to reach too, though traffic can be heavy on the way back depending on the time. Our room was big, clean, and comfortable, and the service was top-notch. The concierge team helped us very well throughout the trip. I skipped the breakfast package to try local food, but the buffet looked tempting and was nicely presented each morning. A very pleasant stay, especially for shoppers and food lovers.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well managed, and the staff were quick to respond and helpful. My only suggestion would be to make some changes to the breakfast spread. The hotel’s entrance looks sleek and modern, and the reception on the 9th floor has a great city view. Its location is hard to beat, right in the heart of Bangkok among local shops and places to eat, with Palladium Mall just steps away. A solid stay for exploring the city.
