We picked this hotel for the pool, hoping to relax there in the late afternoon after exploring the city, but the pool area was a big letdown. It’s small, and we never managed to get a sunbed. The Piano Bar on the ground floor served lovely cocktails that looked great and tasted good. Breakfast was varied and good quality, though the buffet got a little chaotic when busy and was much nicer at quieter times. The location is very convenient, just steps from Ratchathewi BTS. Service was polished, and the public areas tastefully decorated. Our spacious, comfortable room on the 22nd floor had a very large bathroom and great views over central Bangkok. The bed was comfortable, though some furniture looked worn in places.
The executive lounge, The Piano Bar, was a real disappointment. There wasn't a dedicated lounge, drinks were only available from 3pm to 6pm, and the basic food selection was poor, with just a few canopes. The spa massage service was excellent, and the hotel was well located and kept clean. My wife and I had a pleasant eight-night stay at the Vie Bangkok, with a very nice suite and mostly very good, helpful staff. Breakfast was good most mornings, and the one three-course lunch we had was pretty good too. Without the attentive staff and nice room, I don't think we'd have enjoyed the stay.
The lounge food changed daily and was delicious and freshly prepared, and the included three-course lunch was delicious too. We also had one 60mins massage each included in the package, which was relaxing. The complimentary tuk tuk to Central World and Siam Paragon was handy, though traffic got bad at peak times. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the welcome non-alcoholic drinks tasted nice. Our deluxe suite was spacious for three adults with the extra bed, but the AC control wouldn't raise the temperature, so it kept blasting cold air. We had to switch it off when it got too cold, then turn it back on during the night to cool down again. Breakfast was average, with little change in variety, and some food overcooked from constant heating in the bain marie. The made-to-order omelette lacked taste, but the egg benedict was cooked perfectly. The hollandaise looked strange in texture and colour, though it tasted nice. We had lounge access for canape and drinks from 3 to 5pm. It was a good stay overall, and I’d definitely stay here again on our next visit.
The hotel is ideally located, only a few minutes’ walk from the BTS, while malls are 5-10 min tuk tuk rides away. During our five-day stay, the VIE Hotel staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, gave exceptional customer service. There was a wide breakfast spread, though I would have liked more Halal Muslim options. I’d recommend the hotel and plan to stay here on my next Bangkok trip. Thank you Vie Hotel for a great experience.
We loved our Executive Suite, and all the staff were really kind. The hotel is right across from the train station, and MBK and Siam Center malls are within walking distance. We made the most of the hotel, from the breakfast buffet that changed every morning to the lobby cafe’s grab-and-go food, room service and cocktails at the Piano Bar. We also had the 18-course omakase at YTSB, enjoyed a 90-minute candle light massage in the spa, and booked a Tuk Tuk street food tour through the concierge. I’d definitely stay again next time I’m in Bangkok.
