Maverick Ratchada

I stayed in February 2025, and it was so busy that I'm only writing this now. The room was crawling with bugs, and there was a huge spider in the bathroom. At night, going in there would've had me screaming. The shower had no water at all, never mind hot water. They also demanded a 500 baht deposit. The receptionist was shockingly rude, yelling at Indians while being all over Americans and Europeans. When I checked out, she refused to give my deposit back and falsely accused me of dirtying the sheets. I took their kettle and told them I'd return it if they gave me my money back. They called the police, and I calmly explained what had happened. The officers initially pushed back, but they sided with me and made the staff refund the deposit. The rude cop then slunk off in shame, and the hotel eventually apologized. This was the filthiest dump I've ever seen. Pay a little more for somewhere decent unless you're fine dealing with spiders, a filthy bathroom with a dry shower, and a fight with reception and the police. Stay away from this “deposit-thief” hotel!!!!!!!

For the price, I found the room and service to be good value. My room was clean, comfortable, and well kept. The refrigerator was working at that time, though it needed some patience. The cleaning staff checked in regularly to make sure everything was in order. The receptionists were especially friendly. Their English was limited, but they tried hard to communicate, and their smiles and welcoming “khapun ka” (thank you) made a warm impression. I had a genuinely enjoyable stay at Maverick Ratchada Hotel in Bangkok, and it deserves more credit than some negative reviews give it. If you're after an affordable place with good facilities and friendly staff, I'd recommend Maverick Ratchada Hotel.

I've stayed here twice, once in DEC 2022 and again in MAR 2024. It's fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep. The beds are comfortable, the AC works well, and the shower and toilet are okay. The rooms are decent for the price, though they aren't well maintained. Most of the receptionists and other workers I met were nice and greeted me with a smile. One receptionist was the exception. When I asked her to help book a taxi, she ignored me, shook her head, looked away, and acted like she couldn't hear me. Even if she couldn't help, she could've been polite. It felt very rude and unprofessional. This was the receptionist working the night of 28 March and early morning of 29 March 2024, for management's reference.

I slept fine thanks to the couch pillow, even though the bed felt a bit hard and the regular pillows were too thick. I also couldn't access the balcony, which I didn't like, and the light by the mirror should be brighter. Still, I liked the location, the friendly staff, and the fairly spacious room. Having a couch and a bathroom I liked made it a pretty great experience.
