Mode Sathorn Hotel

The pool was a big reason we picked Mode Sathorn after a decade of staying at the same Bangkok hotel, and it lived up to expectations. It gets sun until around 4pm, has fun styling and great views over the city. Drinks at the pool bar are pretty pricey, but the Pad Khra Pao pizza is delicious. The rooftop pool area felt relaxed too. We stopped by for a few drinks, and staff didn't pressure people who came up just to take pictures. We'd asked Duty Manager (Wanaporn) for a high floor and got one. The view from up there was lovely, and even the basic room we booked was huge. There are a few marks on the walls, as some reviews mention, but it didn't get in the way of our stay. All the staff were welcoming, breakfast had lots of choice, and we never waited more than 30 seconds for the lift. With the BTS at the front door, getting around is simple. Talat Noi and other parts of 'old Bangkok', as well as Central Pier, are a short walk away. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The parking takes a little extra effort because it isn't connected directly to the main building, so you have to walk a short way, which could be awkward with heavy bags. Otherwise, I loved the look of the place and spent hours taking in Bangkok's skyline from my room and the infinity pool.

We came to Bangkok as a group of 34 for a wedding, and the hotel worked really well for us. The rooms were fine for different budgets, and the lobby cafe had plenty of choices at good prices. Ploy, the assistant restaurant manager, was incredibly helpful arranging tables for everyone. Thank you, Ploy. The rooftop pool and spa massages were lovely too, especially the 90 minute treatment. We'll be back for one night on the 9th Jan before flying to the UK.

The rooftop pool has a lovely view across the city, and breakfast was fresh with loads of choices. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and so helpful. Thanks!
