Om Inn

My friend and I asked to see the room before checking in at Om inn hotel, which I'd booked online through agooda. The smell was awful and made it hard to breathe. The bathroom was in even worse condition, and the mattress looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. When I asked to cancel, the receptionist refused. I also tried cancelling online through agooda, but got no response and no refund. I don't understand why agooda lets places like this list rooms, and I think it should remove them for people's health and safety. This was my personal experience, so please consider your safety and health before booking.

The smell is the thing I'll remember most about Om Inn. It hits you in the lobby, follows you to the room, and even after you leave, you'll wonder if it's clinging to your clothes. The customer service somehow smelled worse. The staff seemed to be counting the minutes until they could leave, though looking at the place they work, I can't really blame them. My room at least kept the outside elements away. The bedding didn't fit properly and looked like it had been thrown on by someone who couldn't wait to clock out. The toilet had two carefully placed rolls of nearly finished tissue. The furniture seemed more like things they'd found than pieces bought for their purpose. Om Inn has left a lasting impression, including in my clothes, which now need three washes.

No breakfast, but the bath and room were clean and the AC worked well. They serve one 500 ml bottle of water a day. The bed was neat, though my spring mattress was too hard, while my fellow guest got one that was too soft. You get what you pay for.

I didn't stay. They put me in the wrong room, then said they'd move me in two hours, and I couldn't check in until 8 pm. The room they showed me had a wet floor, blood on the pillowcase, and a moldy, smelly bathroom. I've seen dirty rooms before, but this was a new low. I travel to Bangkok often and usually find good stays at reasonable prices, but my luck ran out this time. It's your money if you want to hunt for a bargain, but this wasn't one.
