I booked one night online, but on the day of arrival they said the owner had changed and my booking wasn't available. To stay, I'd have to book again in person and pay the booking fees again. The poor management left me disappointed and tired. They were still taking Agoda bookings even though the ownership had changed, and the new owner's hotel name wasn't showing on the map or booking apps.
The room I got didn't match the pictures. Twin rooms and bunk bed rooms need clearer prices, because being told at the counter that your twin booking is actually for a bunk bed is confusing. The price difference is significant. People who have already paid through the app shouldn't be pushed to buy something else, and refunds can take days, which is hard on anyone with a tight budget. It also leaves staff dealing with frustrated customers. The rooms need privacy curtains, more effective air conditioning because it gets extremely hot, and power outlets for the top bunk. I know it's a hostel, but they could put a little more into it.
For just over 500 baht, it was spacious enough and comfortable enough to sleep in, though I wouldn't stay again and would suggest a hotel instead. It was my first hostel stay. The room had a bunk bed and a large bed, but it was dusty, especially the floor, as if it wasn't cleaned often, and the bathroom smelled. There's no elevator, just stairs. From outside you'd never guess it was a hostel, since the ground floor is an electric bicycle shop. The window looks onto a neighbor's chicken coop. Parking is very limited and hard to find, so ask before bringing a car. If you don't have your own car, you can find a spot easily.
They did help carry our bags, but the service felt very inconsiderate. We had called ahead because an elderly family member needed a lower floor due to the lack of an elevator. The staff member said a second-floor room was reserved, but when we arrived, we were told it wasn't available and we'd been put on the fourth floor. When we asked why, the answers kept going in circles. First we were told foreigners had been staying in the room for a long time; another staff member asked if it had been held for customers, and was told it had. Then that person said they'd already told the other staff member it was reserved, but foreigners had been let in instead. On the way up, our family was exhausted and out of breath, and when we talked about how tired we were, the staff member replied that he was tired too. Humph. The front looked like a bar and smelled strongly of urine. Many foreign guests stayed there and talked loudly. The room's air conditioning wasn't cool, and there was no elevator.
It's a very affordable hotel if you can overlook the small details. The customer service was excellent.
