Please look at the photos here first. When we arrived, the place was totally different from the pictures on Booking. The rooms were really dirty, with lots of ants and insects, and air conditioning costs extra. The rooms are on floors two through four, with no elevator. I didn’t feel comfortable: the staff weren’t welcoming, and it felt like they cared about tourists only as a source of payment. After I finished, they canceled my booking, probably so I wouldn’t leave bad feedback.

The neighborhood is very quiet, and it’s a good location if you’re visiting Bangkok’s best-known temples. The staff treated me kindly, and I don’t like writing bad reviews, but I didn’t feel comfortable here. There was soap on the bathroom floor when I arrived, and I think they should do more about cleaning and insects. Even with two large fans, the heat was unbearable.

Being near Khaosan Road was convenient, but the room was dusty, old, and not properly cleaned. It was very hot, and there was no hot water. The stairs were a tough climb. After I checked in, the owner canceled my Booking.com reservation to avoid the commission, then I received a message from Booking.com saying I had to pay a fine. I wasn't given an official receipt.

The receptionist, a young man, was really nice. I wasn't as happy with the other staff, who seemed focused on money and saw guests as paychecks. The budget price is good, but don't plan to stay longer than a week. I left early for Pattaya. Bangkok didn't have much to offer me as a tourist, though the food and smoothies were tasty and very cheap. I also found that air-conditioning costs ฿100 per day, and the lock is easy to pick. There were lots of homeless people sleeping outside around the area, including next door.
