The rooms at Royal Benja Hotel felt spacious and the location made shopping and getting around Bangkok easy. We had booked three rooms for three people each, with one single and one double bed, but at check-in we were first given rooms with two singles. The staff did arrange extra beds after we pointed it out, which we appreciated. We then asked for a third set of basics, including a dental kit, water, and a towel, before heading out. They were supposed to be there by the evening, but when we got back nothing had been added, so we had to ask again. The hotel was comfortable and well located, though the service coordination needs work.

The city view from our room on the 25th floor was lovely, and the hotel is handy for popular spots around Sukhumvit. The reception and cleaning staff were polite and helpful, and the place looks good at first glance with most basic amenities. Breakfast was a different story. We arrived around 9:55, just before it closed, and a friend came a few minutes later, around 10:05. Even though we'd already taken breakfast for him, the restaurant manager wouldn't let him in and bluntly told him to “get out,” followed by “how many times do I have to tell you.” It felt unnecessarily harsh. The building also seems old, with a musty smell on several floors and sometimes in the rooms. One friend even got an infection, which we attributed to the smell, and it made the stay uncomfortable.

The staff were consistently polite and ready to help with directions or requests, and housekeeping kept our room clean. It was spacious, with comfortable beds, though the interior looks a bit dated. The hotel is close to Sukhumvit road, so shopping, restaurants, and public transport are convenient. Breakfast had enough choice between local and international food to be satisfying, even if it wasn't lavish. There's a pool and gym too, but both are pretty basic. Royal Benja Hotel worked well for a comfortable, budget-friendly stay in a prime Bangkok area. It isn't a luxury property, but I felt it was good value.

The pool was a nice place to unwind after busy days in Bangkok, and breakfast had plenty of options. My room was clean, comfortable, and roomy, with a pleasant city view. Restaurants, shopping, and public transport were all nearby, and the staff were helpful and polite. Some parts of Royal Benja Hotel feel old, but I had a good stay for the price. I'd recommend it to families or tourists wanting a comfortable base in Bangkok.

From April 9-12 I had a pleasant stay, with a huge, luxurious room and a great spot in Sukhumvit near lots of attractions. Service was just average, though. There were pests in my first room, so I had to move, and they only supplied two bottles of water a day. I bought extra at the nearby 7-11.
