The President Hotel Chokchai 4 in Bangkok was decent value for the room size during our two-night stay. The rooms were spacious, basically clean, and came with fresh towels, plus complimentary water and coffee each day. Still, there were quite a few problems. I booked a king bed but got a queen. The AC was unreliable at first, and after reception helped, it still behaved inconsistently and the remote didn't work well. There was no hot water in the bathtub, and toiletries weren't properly supplied. For Indian travelers, the food is a particular issue. Despite some listings suggesting otherwise, there was no Indian food at all. Breakfast was mostly pork and Thai dishes, so it didn't suit vegetarians or anyone expecting Indian options. The hotel is also a long way from the main tourist areas, which can mean a lot of travel time. It's passable if you want a budget place just to sleep, but maintenance, service, and facilities all had clear shortcomings. I wouldn't recommend it to Indian travelers looking for familiar food.

I picked this place because it was near a local Muay Thai gym I was keen to try, and they could take me on short notice. The room was clean, cool, and had what I needed. Honestly, I could've been happy living there. The staff were warm and friendly, and breakfast was served each morning until around noon. There was a 7/11 and several places to eat close by, so I never went without. Downtown was about 25-30 minutes away. I'll be back.

We found a good deal on a suite at The President Hotel, and it turned out to be worth it. The building is visibly old, from the parking area and exterior to the furniture and AC, but the staff were genuinely helpful and made up for a lot. Getting the air conditioning started took some effort, though it was fine once we sorted it out. The family breakfast buffet was included for both adults and kids. There was a decent range, and nothing to complain about, which is handy when travelling with children. The pool was clean too. We liked being in central Bangkok but away from the usual tourist bustle. There's a local market nearby and an MRT station within easy reach, so getting around was convenient. For a deal like ours, it's solid value. Just expect an older property.

Good price, spacious room, clean towels and sheets, and a breakfast with lots of choice. Just don't arrive around 8 AM, when several trays were empty. They brought complimentary coffee, water, shampoo, and bath gel every day. Beds felt like rock, but they provided padded mattress covers when we asked, which helped. The hotel's in rough shape from poor maintenance. The furniture was old and the couch stained. We stayed three weeks, and most tourist areas took about 40 minutes to reach and more than an hour to get back by taxi. The shower had warm water once I figured out the controls, but it didn't reach the bathtub, which had no hot water. The toilet leaked and kept the floor wet and dirty. Cleaning by two women was usually under five minutes; over three weeks, the floor may have been washed twice, though the bathroom floor was wiped daily. No soap was provided, but a convenience store was nearby. The refrigerator didn't work right and was off whenever we took the only key card out, even though there were three of us. The pool was okay, but the surrounding white wall was dirty, moldy, and losing plaster. Pots along the wall could easily have had palm trees or bushes in them. The AC broke and was fixed that day, but it still buzzed while cooling. For the price, there was some good value, but the location and maintenance were major drawbacks.
