Siam Star Hotel

The bathroom was clean and looked recently renovated, and the staff were kind and accommodating throughout. I have no complaint about their service. The room itself was okay, but cramped. It was hard to move around or open our luggage fully, and we could clearly hear noise from neighboring rooms. The bed was quite hard, too. The schedule for check-in and checkout made the stay feel especially short. Check-in was at 3 PM, while checkout was a strict 11 AM. They even called before 11 to remind us to leave. That checkout felt early compared with the usual noon time at other hotels.

We spent one night here before heading to the airport in the morning. The room was clean and basic, and staff were friendly and around if needed. It’s in what I’d call an Indian-style cultural area, with plenty of markets and malls within walking distance. The streets get busy, with night markets.

They provide morning toast with coffee or tea, make the beds each day, and leave fresh towels and bottled water. There’s a shared area where you can warm up takeaway food, too. A lot is included for the price. The hotel is reached through a fairly narrow alley, though cars can still pass. From there it’s an easy walk to the train station, night markets, restaurants, money changers, bus stops, Indra Square Mall, and Pratunam Market. Platinum Fashion Mall is about a 15-minute walk, so getting around is easy.

Friendly and cozy place in a nice spot downtown. Just be careful about going out unmasked during Bangkok’s high pollution season. The PM2.5 risk here isn’t a joke.
