The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok

Breakfast at The Rain Tree Café was excellent, with Thai, Indian, Korean, Chinese, and other choices. There are halal options, though pork is also served in some dishes, so Muslim guests still need to check what they choose. The room was comfortable and elegant, with a soft bed, a big sofa bed, and lovely Byredo (Le Chemin) amenities. Complimentary shoe shining was a nice extra. The reheated flaky pain au chocolat and muesli oats were heavenly, and the dining room had a calm feel. We came to Bangkok for the first time and wanted somewhere quiet but close to the BTS Skytrain. Phloen Chit station is only a short walk away. Everyone from the lobby to reception made us feel welcome. We got in from Don Mueang Airport around 8 a.m., reached the hotel by 9, and our room was already ready. They’d even set up a birthday surprise for my husband, with cake and a fruit platter. This was one of our best hotel stays. Thanks especially to the staff member who helped pack our souvenirs, he was amazing. We’d definitely stay again.

Ink made my stay feel personal and easy. He was warm, calm, and professional from the start, remembered preferences, offered thoughtful suggestions, and paid attention to every detail. He seemed to anticipate what I needed without being asked, while keeping the Royal Club Lounge welcoming. That level of care made the Royal Club experience unforgettable. The location worked well for me, near luxury shopping and Lumphini Park, and the hotel felt sophisticated and peaceful. I’d happily come back. The pool was a highlight, beautifully kept and quiet, with genuinely attentive staff. Restaurant service was excellent, and the lobby team were welcoming throughout. A few things could be better: some Executive Lounge interactions felt less warm than the rest of the hotel, and checkout could be smoother, since leaving thoughtfully matters as much as arriving warmly. I’d also welcome a cozy bar separate from the lobby.

Breakfast was one of the most extensive and high quality I’ve come across, with dishes from across Asia and Western options. There were stations for soup, French toast, and eggs made to order, along with pastries and a fresh juicer and smoothie counter where you could point to the fruit you wanted. I didn’t get to try the restaurants for lunch or dinner, but ordered room service twice and found the food generally good. My room had a shower and a bath, a very comfortable bed, and no traffic noise while I slept on the 21st floor. The hotel has a lovely pool, spa, garden, and a well equipped gym on the fourth floor, including the machines and free weights I needed for my usual workout. Every staff member I met was welcoming. The rooms are well appointed and the entrance is grand. The Athenee Bangkok is beautiful and polished. I’d put it among Bangkok’s higher end five star hotels, and the price reflects that. I’ll keep it in mind for another luxurious stay in the city.
