The Mulberry Bangkok Khaosan Road

For a stopover, this could be a great spot if you like street food and nightlife. They helped us arrange a taxi for 3am, which was so useful. The rooms are small for a junior suite, but it is Bangkok, and ours was super clean with a comfy bed. There was only a small window, which actually helped us sleep in because not much light came through. We stayed a couple of nights on the way to the islands. It’s right on the party street, which was fun for one night, though from our second-floor room we could vaguely hear music until about 5am. There were lots of drunk people staying here and bringing bar girls back, but it didn’t bother us. The staff were nice, if not especially friendly, and I imagine that may be down to the clients they deal with. The street gets messy late at night. We preferred the Susie walking street area, just a few minutes away on a parallel street, to Khao San Road.

The location puts you within walking distance of the main tourist sites in the daytime and right among the nightlife after dark. The rooms are really nice and clean, and having a pool is a nice extra. The beds and pillows weren’t comfortable, though. And be ready for music pumping until 4am every night. If you want peace, a good night’s sleep, or are bringing a bunch of kids, don’t stay here. For everyone else, the location may be just what you want.

Good choice if you want to be right in the middle of the action. It seems newly reconstructed, and everything inside looks new. The pool is good too. The double windows are very small, and there’s a slight damp smell. My clothes ended up smelling damp as well.

If you want to be right on Khaosan Road, the location is excellent, with food, shops, and nightlife just outside. My room was clean and had the basics, including AC and a fridge. The rooftop pool was a nice spot to unwind after exploring, and the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms are quite small, so luggage can make them feel cramped. Nights are noisy because you’re on Khaosan Road, which light sleepers should keep in mind. They also ask for a deposit at check-in, which may be inconvenient for some guests. For a short trip or anyone who likes being in the middle of things, Hotel Mulberry worked well for me.
