River Tree Resort

The Mekong views from a fifth floor room are lovely. The stay itself was decent, but the internet was terrible and breakfast very poor. The shower gave either decent water pressure or a reasonable temperature, never both at once.

The grounds are beautiful, and the hotel is well maintained. We found the staff friendly and helpful, and the food was good. A very nice hotel.

The front desk was very efficient, and this is a lovely modern hotel right on the Mekong. We’d happily stay again.

The riverfront setting is lovely, though the hotel is about 1-2 km from the town center, where the night market, river promenade, and walking street are. There’s no shuttle. We were greeted warmly when we arrived, but no one showed us to our room, and as two guests we had to ask for a second key. The room also wasn’t air-conditioned when we got in, so it took a while to cool down in the afternoon heat. Breakfast was tasty, but at 3700 baht a night I expected real fruit juice, not the sweet, colored artificial drink they served. The bottle charge at checkout also felt inappropriate and unfriendly. They gave us two free water bottles, then charged us 30 baht for one returnable bottle that was missing because we’d taken it out of the room. Reception had time to check the room for the empty bottle and kept us waiting, even though nobody had escorted us there when we arrived.
