Day Waterfront Hotel. (SHA Extra Plus)

The rooms are a bit tired, but they're good value, and the hospitality more than makes up for it. The owner was a delight: so friendly, spoke good English, and really looked after her guests. She even offers a simple breakfast for free and helps arrange onward travel. After two days on the slow boat and getting across the border, her smile and suggestion of the restaurant just around the corner were exactly what I needed. If you're in the area or arriving on the slowboat, don't hesitate to stay overnight. Fantastic ❤️

We had a balcony looking toward the river and Laos, and the room was big, clean and comfortable. There were also several restaurants and a 7/11 within walking distance. We stayed one night in January before taking the slow boat into Laos. The husband-and-wife owners were warm and welcoming, spoke great English, and explained how the boat process worked. They even helped us fill in our visa forms and gave us breakfast for free so we wouldn't go hungry during the slow border crossing. We couldn't recommend staying here more.

There are plenty of restaurants close by, and the hotel has a parking place. Our room was big and had a good balcony view. The hosts were so nice and made us feel welcome and comfortable. We strongly recommend it.

We had a pleasant stay overlooking the Mekong. The hosts were accommodating and helpful with our trip into Laos the next day, arranging things with a river cruise provider and giving us immigration forms to fill out ahead of time. They also lent us a cooler for ice in our room, which we'd bought at the store across the street, and told us about a local celebration. Good location, with good places to eat nearby. Recommended!
