Ibis Styles Chiang Khong Riverfront Hotel [ex. Chiangkhong Teak Garden]

For a small town, this place was a really nice surprise. It was clean everywhere, and the pool, onsen and views made it easy to unwind. Breakfast was okay with a decent range, and I liked that they cooked eggs fresh. The room was clean and comfortable, with amazing beds and pillows. We wanted to buy a pillow to take home but couldn't.

We'd stayed here two years ago and came back for five lovely days at the Chiang Kong teak garden. Our river-facing room had a breathtaking view. All the staff took good care of us, especially Auy. We'll definitely return.

We enjoyed the riverfront setting, especially from the little balcony in room #113. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had great pressure and temperature. The property is well cared for, and the staff were professional and pleasant, though the room itself feels dated and could use some maintenance. Breakfast had a large choice of traditional and local dishes, but on both mornings nearly everything was cold or just warm. The hot food was left uncovered, so it cooled down, and that seemed to be a staff issue rather than guests leaving things open. We also ate dinner there both nights. It was hot, but the flavors and quality weren't anything special. A nice place for a night or two.

There weren't any gluten-free options marked on the menu, so I showed our server my gf card. They checked with the chef, who said they could make almost anything gluten free. I got a very nice gluten-free pad thai.
