Anchan 2 Apartments and Rooms

It's a decent place for the money if you can live with the downsides. The apartment in Santitham is a good size, well kept, very clean and bug-free, and management is very nice. The location works quite well during the day. At night, though, the karaoke place next door and Oxide bar play loud music until midnight, which was a deal breaker for us. The internet drops out and was among the worst we've had in Thailand, so don't stay here if you need dependable Wi-Fi. They also charge 8 baht per unit for electricity, which is technically illegal now.

Being near the market is a big plus, and I'll stay here again. A huge market with loads of inexpensive choices is 150 m away, and Go Gym is 200 m away, with rates of 60b per day or 3000b for three months. The bars are noisy, but they're required by law to turn the music off at midnight.

The worst part was the noise at night from the neighbourhood bars. Anchan 2 is surrounded by rowdy live karaoke bars, so try it if you like sleeping with bar noise. I wouldn't come back: the building is old, Wi-Fi is slow, there are lots of little ants, the bathroom has mold, the bed was dirty, and electricity costs 8 baht per unit.

The people managing these simple, clean apartments are really nice, and the neighbourhood is great. Prices are very reasonable and contract lengths are flexible. I was glad to find this place during high season. Highly recommended!
