Love CNX Guesthouse

We booked six nights but have only managed one, and we’re trying to reach the property about a refund for the rest. There were bed bugs in both beds in our twin room, Room 3. The beds had no frame, just a cement base. We also weren’t told the room was directly over a live-music rock bar and saxophone bar, so we couldn’t sleep. I’ve never had worse accommodation in all my years travelling. I usually try to find something positive instead of leaving a bad review, but I can’t here. Since arriving, I haven’t seen a single staff member to help, even during check-in. Total disgrace.

We had to leave after just one night because there were bed bugs. The only positives were the location and the communication. It seemed the bug problem had already been going on for months, so we wondered why the owner let people sleep there before it was resolved. When we told him in the morning, he was cooperative and offered a full refund, though he also seemed familiar with the issue and wasn’t surprised. He was cooperative as well when we asked him to contribute toward cleaning our clothes and backpacks.

We left on the second night of a six-night booking. The room didn’t match what was shown online, and there were bed bugs, blood stains, and broken mattresses. The hostel is right above a very loud rock bar that plays until 1 am, which also wasn’t mentioned online. There was no staff around to speak to. Horrible experience, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

In the cheer, we raise our glasses, clink, and watch the drinks ebb away. Six strings set the room dancing; strangers sway, sense forgotten under the cover of the groove. The scene is loud and wild, every color in the rainbow, and we call it beautiful. Sometimes the brightest smiles shine in the shadows.
