Mövenpick Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai

Our family and friends had an amazing stay at Movenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai. The team were incredibly hospitable and always ready to help, and the hotel was clean, well maintained, and in a great location. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. Special thanks to housekeeping for keeping them spotless throughout our stay. We really enjoyed being there and would highly recommend Movenpick to anyone looking for a comfortable, memorable visit.

Being in the middle of the lively night market scene gave us a real taste of Thailand. At the same time, the Movenpick staff gave us that familiar, reassuring care you appreciate when traveling. Kade, Pin, and Sofia, the waitresses, took the time to learn our names and routine. Their manager, Tukta, looked after us too, even making sure we got back to the hotel safely one night. We’re grateful for the compassion and care they showed us.

We first stayed at the hotel on 25th Feb and checked out the next morning after breakfast. We had three rooms for our family, and everyone enjoyed the stay. It was our first time in Chiangmai, and this was our first hotel. We planned to return on 2nd March after travelling to some beautiful places around Chiangmai. I’d left my shoe bag behind. Once I noticed, I tried to call locally, but we only had internet plans on our phones. I eventually reached the hotel and gave them a local number, but at first there was no news, whether it had been found or not. That made me hesitate about going back, especially from a big brand hotel where I expected lost and found service. We checked in again on 2nd March and found my shoe bag. Thanks to Movenpick hotel. That’s what I mean about a brand making me feel safe. I’ll definitely come back to stay again. Thanks, I appreciate it.

The staff are what make this Mövenpick stand out. I was greeted by name at check-in, and later, when I’d forgotten my room number, someone recognized me and remembered my details straight away. Nuchy, the Guest Experience Manager, also noticed during evening cocktail hour that I preferred sparkling wine and offered to swap it for the red wine I’d been given as part of my Diamond privileges. That kind of personal attention was impressive. Thanks to Nuchy and the whole team for a memorable stay. The property itself is older and feels dated in places. My suite upgrade gave me plenty of space, but both the design and layout could use modernizing, and the rooms and amenities felt dark. The lobby was pleasant enough, and a refresh would make a real difference. Still, the exceptional hospitality and attention to detail more than made up for those shortcomings. I’ve stayed at several Mövenpick properties in other cities, and Chiang Mai is a unique case for its service.
