I spend every winter living here. The houses feel authentically local, with traditional furniture, and the rent and electricity are very reasonable. It's a cute setting, and I like that the kitchen has everything you need. Drinking water is easy to buy too. The owners are lovely and have helped me a lot. It feels like being with family, and I'm very grateful.
The owners are really kind and helpful, and it's a nice place for a longer stay. Some rooms are a little dark, while others can be noisy. If you can get a lower-priced room or small apartment in the old city, though, that's a good find.
For a month or more in Chiang Mai, this is an affordable, convenient rental and a good way to get a more authentic Thai experience. The family who live here are kind and helpful, speak great English and Japanese, and are quick to sort out maintenance issues in the rooms. After renting around the city and beyond for eight years, I can honestly say this is the best room I've had in Chiang Mai.
The houses are a little dated now, but they're spacious and fully furnished. Inside the old city, I doubt you'll find a better deal. The landlords are among the best I've had, always pleasant to talk with and genuinely kind. Khun Jai Dee! I only moved out because I was leaving Chiang Mai. If I return, this would definitely be my choice of home again.
It's affordable inside the old city, and you can rent an apartment by the month, week, or however long you need. The manager speaks English, Thai, Japanese, and maybe more, though I'm not sure. It feels like home to me.
