Sanae' Townhouse Chiang Mai

The location in Nimman is convenient, but my family and I didn’t feel comfortable on the 7th floor, and the room had an unpleasant atmosphere. It was spacious, though quite old and worn. The two TVs both had problems: one wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi and the other was broken. The hot water didn’t work, and the air conditioning was so weak it felt almost like a fan, perhaps because of poor maintenance. The staff didn’t seem very friendly or attentive. Breakfast was ordered from a menu rather than served as a buffet; the food was decent but nothing special. Given the high rate, the quality didn’t match other hotels in the same price range. I’d think carefully before choosing Sanae Hotel.

We stayed three nights in September and had a very good time. Our suite was clean and huge, with plenty of room in the bedroom, lounge, and bathroom. The set-menu breakfast had lots of options, including Asian and Western food, and all the staff were very, very nice and helpful. The pool was out of service while we were there. Also, being in Nimman meant we could hear planes until late at night.

This is one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at. The location is great, the rooms are comfortable with good views, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast is excellent, with local and Western dishes to choose from a set menu. I kind of prefer that to a buffet since you can order exactly what you need instead of loading up. We did notice a cockroach, so pest control could be better.

The room was clean and nice, with easy access to amenities. There are a few good massage places within a five-minute walk.
