This hostel is just a little different from the others I've stayed in, and I loved it. The rooms are superb, with everything you need, and I really liked having the bathrooms and showers outside the room. The location works well: the pub crawl showed how easy it is to get into town, while still being far enough out to have a bit of space. The staff were brilliant and encouraged people to socialise. Big shout out to Taya, pronounced 'tyre', for being an absolute weapon in and out of the hostel. World class, I'll stay again!

The Islander Hostel Chiang Mai made planning simple by arranging a Sticky Waterfall trip for a small fee, along with activities such as elephant sanctuary visits and bamboo rafting. Aummy was a wonderful host, genuinely friendly and always happy to help. The hostel has a very social feel. I met lots of people, made good friends, and came away with great memories. If you're travelling solo in Chiang Mai, it's a great place to stay.

The local staff and bartenders are all legends: Aumie, Baby, PK, Taya, Ai. Chon!! 🍻 My favourite pub crawl in cnx so far. Over my 2 months in CNX, I stayed in 9+ hostels in Old City, and these are my favourites: Chill 😌 & Party ish 🍻 & free brekky🍳 😌🗣️🍳Entaneer Poshtel (south) 😌🍳Common Hostel (NW) 😌🗣️One Life Hostel (north) 🍻🗣️Islander Chiang Mai (south) 🍻🍻🗣️Stamps (east) This has everything I want in a social, party style hostel. There are daily activities and nightly drinking events, or you can just hang in the lobby playing cards. It's definitely drinking oriented, but not the most party-party place. You don't have to drink every night, though you can ;). The beds were comfy, with two pillows😍, and there was aircon in the room. The shower and toilet stalls on each floor were clean enough, cleaner than most 'party' hostels. The wetbath showers kinda PMO by design lol.

The hostel has a great location and nice rooms, and you can book all kinds of fun activities through it. I give Islander Hostel 5 stars. Pi Qeu and Babey were such fun staff members, easy to have a good laugh with. Big shout-out to Taya, though. I was there for 4 days, and she had already become my best friend. She's super social, really fun to be around, and a great person overall. I miss her a lot. Definitely 5 stars for Islander Hostel!

There's a relaxed, social feel here, with people usually hanging out, chatting, chilling, and drinking around 7pm each night. The events aren't the best, but the hostel does such a good job of bringing people together that it makes up for that. Taya, Baby, and Alex were super chill and fun to be around. SUCH a great hostel!
