The Park Hotel Chiang Mai

Mona, BK, and everyone in the restaurant felt like best friends. Reception welcomed us so politely, and the staff were among the friendliest I've ever met at a hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and great. The rooms were large, with comfy beds and a great shower, and the rooftop pool was fantastic. Don't be put off by the location. It's only a 4 min Tuk-Tuk ride to the centre, and the hotel even offers to drive you there.

The hotel is a little farther from the night bazaar, but it's almost walkable and there's an evening shuttle. It's also a sister hotel to the Empress hotel. I liked the breakfast buffet, with both Western and Thai food. I often went for the waffles with Maple syrup. The entry and hallways have special decorations that made it feel like Thailand. Good location and a very nice hotel.

The staff treated us like family, always smiling and friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful, with clean, well-appointed rooms and a lovely pool. There's everything you might need nearby, and it's just a 10-minute walk into town.

The room was spacious, with a big king size bed, and we were comfortable, though the decor could use some modernising. Breakfast was sufficient, with fruit, pastries, fresh pancakes and waffles, omelettes, and traditional Thai food. For the price, I was happy with our stay. The staff gave fantastic service. Paulo and Mona were especially helpful and friendly, always smiling and taking time to make sure we were comfortable. We returned to our room to find free plates of fruit and snacks, which was a lovely surprise. They also exchange money at the cash desk. The rate wasn't as good as the markets, but since we were leaving, changing there made sense rather than spending 200 baht on a trip to the market and back.
