The Royal Shilton Resort

I came for a week and kept extending until I’d stayed three weeks. I loved the place. It’s peaceful and has plenty of old Thai charm. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance, plus plenty of coffee shops and a handful of laundry shops. The staff are amazing, always greeting you with a smile. I’ll be back in Chiang Mai and will stay here again, 100%. Thanks to everyone at the Royal Shilton Resort.

The courtyard and pool area are beautiful, and another guest and I agreed the place has a good vibe. My room was large and bright, and the shower had excellent hot water. There are loads of places to eat within walking distance and a laundry nearby. One of my favorite places to stay in Chiang Mai. Highly recommend.

The rooms and buildings have character and nice accents, which I appreciated after the sterile feel of more modern buildings. It’s a quieter spot in town, and the rooms were comfortable and good value. Staff were plenty friendly. The surrounding area didn’t feel very walkable, though there’s a coffee stand and market nearby, so I’d suggest transport for getting into town. The swimming pools were nice, but only one was filled while I was there.

The Superior Double was roomy, with a comfortable bed and a bathtub, while the shower and toilet each had their own room. I liked the stained glass windows and the amenities: mini-fridge, television, water boiler, mugs and glasses, patio with a bench and clothes rack, hangers and toiletries. Bottled water was replenished and the trash emptied every day. Service was high, and the pool was pleasant. The area is quiet, although planes regularly fly overhead. One thing I didn’t like was having my towels swapped out when I wasn’t done with them. If you don’t want that, just tell them. I’ll return 💕
