The only upside was being near the bus terminal, so we could get out quickly. We booked a private room, but the sheets were visibly covered in blood when we arrived. We asked the staff to change them, and they did, but then we found blood on the pillows too. They changed those as well, yet on the third check there was more blood. It was disgusting, and clearly the bedding hadn’t been changed for a long time or checked before we arrived. We got a refund for that night and cancelled the rest of the stay because it was unbearable. The staff asked us not to leave a review explaining what had happened, which felt extremely rude. The place looked nothing like the photos. Everything was very dirty, and the whole property was very old and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in at least a month. The staff were confused and unwelcoming.

We booked four nights based on the good reviews and modern look, but the communal area looked like a building site, nothing like the photos. The hostel was filthy, especially the bathroom. The showers looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in months, the shampoo and soap dispensers were broken, and the drains smelled disgusting. The toilet cubicle was cramped, with the door hitting the toilet as you entered. The worst part was finding red bugs on the duvet. Looking more closely, we saw lots across the sheet and by the pillows. A quick Google search told us they were bed bugs. There was nobody working when we went downstairs to report it, so we packed up and spent the night perched on a high stool in the communal area. We left at 6am because we couldn’t bear the uncomfortable stools any longer, and left a note at reception saying we’d checked out early and why. We wrote the next day asking for a refund for the three nights we couldn’t stay, but got no response. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Be aware, there are bed bugs! After one night we saw blood on the sheets, and after carefully checking the bed, we caught one and showed it to the receptionist. The hotel offered to move us to another room but wouldn’t refund the nights. Management didn’t seem to take the issue seriously, so if you decide to stay, check the bed beforehand.

It’s very close to the bus terminal, night market, grocery stores, and everything else you need. There’s a bar downstairs and a rooftop terrace, and it’s good value with super friendly staff. The bed was much too hard for me, and a few things could be improved to make the place cozier, but that may come with time.
