Lemme Chok Dee Guesthouse

The music was loud until late, which I was okay with, but the room was awful, especially the mattress. It was filthy and extra hard, with holes that looked like they'd come from years of use. I woke up with terrible back pain. This was the worst hostel of my whole trip in Asia. The only reason to stay would be if you got so drunk at the bar that you couldn't travel anywhere and just needed somewhere to lie down and sleep.

We had a great stay here. It was really cheap, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The shower and toilet were pretty clean, and there was a fan. You can hear the bar from the room, but it closes at midnight, so it wasn't too bad.

We booked and prepaid a private room through Agoda, had a confirmation, and called that afternoon to say we'd arrive late. When we got there at 10:30 pm, they had no room for us. The woman working at the front desk and bar wasn't helpful and just kept saying there was no space, without trying to fix it. I repeatedly asked her to find somewhere nearby at the same price, but she wouldn't even try. She only told us there was a hostel around the corner. Since it was late and not much was open, we had to pay more for dorm beds instead of the private room we'd booked.

I only went to the bar, not the guest accommodation. The evenings are usually good fun, with lots of expat travellers around. I'd give it five stars if the sound system weren't turned up so high.
