The Windsor Boutique Resort

The room wasn’t worth what I paid. The walls had mould that seemed to have been painted over, and the smell was disgusting. The pool was dirty, and dogs barked almost all night. The place is in the middle of nowhere. The host lady looked very stressed and guilty, perhaps because she knows the rooms she rents aren’t worth the money. A room like this should cost no more than 350 baht. If you’re going with kids, bring a board game or something to do by the pool.

There are lots of aggressive dogs outside the hotel, which made evening and morning walks with our dog difficult. The hotel isn't responsible for those dogs, but it can be a problem if yours needs a pee break before or after the night. We called ahead and explained that our dog sleeps outside. The lady agreed not to charge for him but asked us to prepay 450B online. When we arrived, she changed her mind and asked for 250B for the dog, saying he could disturb other guests. The hotel was almost empty. Very bad experience.

We stopped here twice on our way to South Thailand. It’s a good, very clean place, just right for one night and what we needed. I wouldn’t stay longer, especially with the dog.

The owner went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s a lovely little place, with quiet rooms and all the amenities you might want or need. I’d recommend it to anyone on holiday in chumphon or just passing through.
