The Aree Hat Yai Hostel

The bed was comfortable and they cleaned the room daily. I stayed for three days and two nights. They provide a fridge, bottled water, towels, shampoo, shower gel, and a shower cap, but no toothbrush. The TV channels couldn’t be changed. It was okay as a place to sleep.

The staff were polite and friendly, but that was the one bright spot. The room lighting was dim, and the place smelled musty, with old furniture that seemed poorly maintained. I found half-eaten bread in a drawer, and the toilet and bathtub were in an unhygienic state. The bed was large, yet I broke out in rashes all over, which made me wonder how clean it was. Parking was cramped, and tuk-tuks playing loud music outside sometimes disturbed the quiet. My stay at Kosit Hotel in Hatyai was disappointing.

There’s plenty to eat nearby, including local restaurants and lots of cafés if you like hopping between them. The area is handy for temples, the night market, shopping centre and Kim Yong market. The room itself felt run down and smelled a bit, so you may need to ask for air freshener. Toiletries were very limited.
