Capital O959 Wabi Sabi Boutique Hotel

The rooms are spacious, and having a pool for a dip after a long day out was a nice extra. This simple hotel has everything needed for a comfortable stay in Kamala, with a great location near the beach, restaurants, shops, and cafés. I was surprised by the negative breakfast comments. I thought it was decent and perfectly fine to start the day. Good value for a relaxed, easy stay.

The staff were great, and the pets were lovely. I really enjoyed the breakfast, and the room was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. The pool gives you proper direct access, and the TV actually logs into Netflix. Beer in the minibar was 80 baht. The beach and bars are both about a five-minute walk away, and there’s a restaurant just a minute from the hotel. I couldn’t have picked a better place.

Kamala is a lovely town to explore on foot from here. The hotel sits on a quiet side soi, but Beach Road and its restaurants are easy to reach through a cut-through, and the main road and bars are just a left turn away. If you want to go farther, Bolt and Grab are readily available. Along the beach road, No.1 Seafood was particularly good and had options for meat eaters too. The room was clean and modern, with a large, comfortable bed in the middle and a desk/media counter behind it. It also had a sofa, TV, towels for the room and pool, a dressing gown, tea and coffee, bottled water, and a kettle. The shower and toilet are in a glass-door cubicle with an open top, and the sink is in the main room, so you’ll need to be comfortable with your partner. The whole place has a minimalist, uncluttered feel. It seems better suited to couples or solo travellers than families. Breakfast is downstairs from reception. You choose a set breakfast with eggs cooked to order, and there’s a small self-service area for fruit, toast, and other basics. We stayed in mid December 2025. The entrance is a little tucked away, but check-in was quick once we found it, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are about five resident dogs, including one called “Kiss Me.” The hotel is open-plan and clean, with a pool running along the front and a small bridge over to reception. There’s also a lift to all floors. A great little find in a quiet soi, close to what Kamala has to offer. Enjoy 👍🏼

The room wasn’t worth what I paid. I left my child’s security blanket behind by accident and contacted the hotel the same day I checked out. The staff were no help, and after I followed up several times, they told me they couldn’t find it. It means a great deal to us, so losing it this way is devastating. Be careful with your belongings here. I’d warn people not to leave anything behind, since I didn’t get it back.
