The room and breakfast were good, and the staff in other areas provided excellent service. My front desk experience fell short, unfortunately. Requests I sent ahead weren't passed along from the booking system, so they couldn't be accommodated. The front desk team needs to improve its communication, professionalism and approach to customer service. Giving guests incorrect information and refusing them shouldn't happen at this level of hospitality. I hope management reviews this area. I'd look forward to coming back once service standards improve.

The hotel has a nice colonial style and a large pool, spa and gym, but the rooms need refurbishing. The AC units are old and take a long time to cool the room, and the mattresses are old and very squeaky. The pool also needs a thorough clean. The water was dirty, the tiles felt slimy, and there was algae under the waterline. I was here at Christmas, and it didn't seem to have been properly cleaned since our last visit. It's close to the bridge, which is what most visitors come for. We chose to eat at nearby restaurants instead of trying the hotel restaurants. We'd come again, but hope to see some basic improvements.

A charming old riverside resort, with a spacious room and a lovely balcony view. When we arrived in the evening, there was nobody at reception and nobody showed us where our room was. We wandered around with our bags for almost 10 minutes before finding it. The room could use some renovation too. A big screen smart TV and a larger bathtub would be nice, there's plenty of space for a bigger tub. The current one is so small.

The pool was seriously dirty. After its monthly clean, there were still clumps of dirt floating in it, and mold between the tiles. The architecture is beautiful, and the Thai food was surprisingly good, but this definitely didn't feel five star.
