The Peace River Kwai Hotel

The room was comfortable enough, and the air conditioning was very powerful. The bathroom was a little small but fine. We were on the second floor, one level above the ground, and stairs were no problem for us. There’s no regular elevator, but staff used their “special” lift to bring up our luggage, which was helpful. The hotel was very quiet, probably because Kanchanaburi isn’t a very touristy area. Reception shares space with a coffee shop, so I didn’t realize at first that it was the front desk. The woman there was very friendly, and check-in was easy. River Kwai Bridge and 711 are within walking distance, and there’s a well-known restaurant just opposite where you can eat by the river. Recommended, and good value for money.

The room is a good size for one or two people, not too big or too small, and everything was admirable clean. They provide a hair dryer, towel, and water. Service is great, and there’s a large parking area with room for more than 20 cars. I’d definitely come back.

I picked this place in a hurry and got lucky. It’s a three-year-old hotel that’s still immaculate, with a comfortable bed and quiet room. The bridge and train station are a short walk away. I found the locals very friendly, many speaking good English. The night receptionist was a lovely ambassador for both the hotel and the local community. A+.
