The breakfasts were amazing, especially the ‘cocottes’, and Mrs Fred arranged all our onward travel and transfers for a very good price. Mr Fred also gave us great food recommendations and helped us with our French. Mr Pilou and Mrs Fred were perfect hosts. They invited us to their bar for a welcome drink and even treated us to a farewell glass of wine. The bungalows sit in the garden up a gentle slope and come with hot showers, a fridge, a safe, air conditioning, free sustainable water bottles, and cold water.

The owners made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. They were always around for questions or local recommendations, and their warmth really made the stay special. Our bungalow was cozy, comfortable, and well cared for, with everything we needed. It felt like a private hideaway surrounded by nature. The pool was clean and inviting for a dip after exploring the island, and the bungalows were arranged around it. The sunset views from poolside were amazing, something I looked forward to each day. It was a peaceful, scenic place in Koh Chang, and I can’t wait to return.

Fred and Pilou were brilliant hosts, always ready to help with bike or car hire and transfers, and they know the area well. We got around easily even without renting anything, just walking to the road and waiting for a shared pickup truck taxi. The location suited us perfectly, on the central to south-west coast. The beaches are stunning, and there’s enough going on without it feeling too touristy. Restaurants are 50 to 300 metres away, and our favorite was The Coconut Kitchen next door, better quality and half the price of some others. The rooms were modern, comfortable, very clean, and had efficient air conditioning and a large shower room. Fred’s French breakfasts were better than any I’ve had in France.

The owners were lovely and very helpful when my friends and I stayed for three nights over Christmas. Our bungalow was exceptionally clean and well maintained, with new air conditioning and a large double bed. The shared space had a welcoming pool and lounge chairs that were cleaned regularly. Thanks for a great stay.

Lazy Republique resort was peaceful and lovely for our week at the start of high season. Fred and Pilou were adorable hosts and did everything they could to make sure we had a great time. Nice restaurants are only a five-minute walk away.
