I didn't stay at the resort, just tried the restaurant. The nachos were the only good thing on the menu. My sandwich was very dry, and the gyosa mushi was mushy. The waiters were watching videos on their phones with the volume on. I'd say keep walking.

The clean, roomy rooms and friendly, helpful staff, including at reception, made for a lovely stay, and the food was good with a beautiful view. The location is fantastic, right by the beach in the heart of White Sand Beach. There aren't many beach loungers, and getting around the rather convoluted layout means climbing stairs. Breakfast was okay but could use more variety. Restaurant prices are on the high side: a large Chang beer costs 150 THB, a glass of ice is 30 THB, soda is 40 THB, and cocktails start at 190 THB. We'll be back.

The food and cocktails were excellent, and we loved the music from Sabay Bar next door. We stayed three nights at Mac resort in the fairly busy White Sands Beach area. The location was excellent, and the staff were super, especially the food and drink servers, who were friendly and efficient. We never heard the music later than midnight. The receptionist working when we arrived seemed unhappy, but the one on our way out made up for it. Large beers were 150 Bart, apparently along the whole beach. Definitely recommend Mac!

A beachfront hotel on white sands beech, with a big swimming pool and fire shows on most nights. Excellent place.
