Hideout Koh Kood

I’d consider returning to Hideout Koh Kood for another quiet stay. It has a friendly staff and a calming, private boutique feel, with nature all around. It’s a good fit if you want to disconnect, not if you’re after parties or the feel of a big luxury resort. The villa was clean, spacious, bright, and thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable bed. Mine was on the first line with a direct sea view, so waking up to the ocean was special. I also noticed how fresh and pleasant everything smelled, especially inside the villas. There was a huge bathtub and a small private pool, with direct access from the bedroom. The terrace had a daybed, table, and chairs, making it a nice spot to unwind or have a quiet drink. There’s no sandy beach right in front of the villas, just rocks, though a nice swimming beach is next to the resort. Renting a scooter through the resort was easy and affordable, and let me explore Koh Kood independently. The air conditioning needs work. It was either running full blast and too cold, or off, after which the room got hot and humid quickly. More balanced temperature control would help. Dining and breakfast were average. There was a wide selection, but the food quality could be better. A shorter menu with more attention to the dishes and ingredients could improve things. Some breakfast items were taken away before 10:00 am, and orders were occasionally misunderstood or forgotten. Those service details would make a noticeable difference.

We booked three rooms for me and my partner, her parents, and her brother and cousin. Our bungalow had a gorgeous ocean view and a private pool, and the room was lovely. The Hideout was well maintained, and the staff were attentive and friendly throughout. The wildlife felt natural and real, not artificial. My partner proposed here, and the staff were so diligent in helping make it all perfect. It was a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who went out of their way to help! ❤️🎉🥰😘

For what it costs, this hotel isn’t good value, and my stay was disappointing. The staff seemed uncoordinated and confused. I had to repeat myself several times, and some people didn’t know basic hotel information. Room C4 was small and ordinary, with very weak shower pressure. There aren’t many amenities, so a longer stay could leave you with nothing to do. WiFi barely worked in the room and was unstable. The à la carte dishes we ordered were too salty, although the breakfast buffet was okay.

The secluded, quiet setting made it easy to relax, with no outside tourists around. Our pool villa was spotless, spacious, well equipped, and had a gorgeous sea view. Staff were warm and attentive. There’s an inviting pool area, plus a restaurant and bar open late. You can rent scooters and use kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkeling gear for free. A lovely public beach is 10 minutes away by kayak, or 300 meters on foot.
