Eco Lanta Hideaway Beach Resort

The setting among all that lush greenery was beautiful, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We spent a week at Eco Lanta Hideaway Beach Resort with our family. The kids loved the playground and spent hours outside, while the roomy pool was great for splashing around and making memories together. The beach is very close, and we enjoyed watching the children explore the shore and swim in the gentle waves. The adults also had relaxing massages after busy days. Meals at the resort restaurant were a treat, with tasty choices for both kids and grown-ups. One evening, live music and a fire show made dinner feel especially magical. We also loved relaxing on the sunbeds with cocktails and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The friendly team and all the amenities made this a memorable family trip. We left feeling happy and already thinking about a return.

We left two weeks earlier than planned because the stay had become very unpleasant. The beachside setting has potential, but the bungalow condition and management response didn’t justify the high-season rates for us. I’d compare other Koh Lanta options carefully before booking, as there seemed to be better value elsewhere. Our main concern was the number of cockroaches and millipedes coming inside every night through visible gaps in the walls. There were also nails sticking up from the floor in several places, a safety concern especially for children. One bedroom and the bathroom had no air conditioning, so those areas were uncomfortably hot. The pool, which is prominently shown in Google and booking-site photos, looked murky during our week, and we didn’t see guests using it much. Management said it uses seawater rather than chlorine, but that didn’t make it more appealing. Wi-Fi was very limited and only worked near reception, not in our bungalow. When we brought up the problems, management seemed to deny or minimize them, at first saying they hadn’t heard of such issues. That surprised us because other guests raised similar concerns to management during our stay, and the same points appear repeatedly in reviews, including ones from 2025.

I spent a few nights here with my puppy and loved how peaceful it was by the beach. The sunsets were amazing, the room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and the service was great. The manager helped us book everything we needed on the island, and even lent us his bike so we could go into town. Highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely be back.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially the umbrella-guy, who always had a smile. They sorted us out with a scooter, nearby restaurant tips and a massage after a long day. It felt like a little slice of paradise 🌴🌅.
