Phi Phi Palms Residence

We had a terrible time here. The rooms themselves are nice, and they let us keep two of our three rooms for two extra hours each without charging us, which would have been 500 bath per hour. But there were stains on the sheets, a dripping toilet, and a live roach in our room. Our friends’ room and shower water both smelled like eggs. Clothes went missing after the laundry service, the staff weren’t very friendly, and it felt expensive for what we got. At night it was so loud it sounded like a Miami night club.

The security setup made me feel safe as hell: there’s a night guard, cameras on every floor, and the main door closes at 00:00 unless you have the key card. We had a nice balcony on the third floor, and the beach is just a two-minute walk away, close to the best rooftop bar in phi phi. They didn’t charge us for late checkout.

The bathroom was the nicest I’ve seen in Thailand, the air conditioning was cold, and everything was very clean. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want a comfortable or restful night. Our room smelled horrible, the water pressure was nonexistent, there was no hot water, and the Wi-Fi was awful. It’s right beside a bar, with loud bass and drunk girls shrieking in the hallway. They also require a 1000 baht deposit at check-in, so keep your receipt!!!!!!! I lowered my rating to two stars after construction began right at 8 am. I’d been awake since 2 am and got no sleep. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

The staff were really friendly and helped me book a full day group tour around Koh Phi Phi’s popular beaches and snorkeling spots. It cost 600 Baht plus a 400 park fee, about $30 USD total. The hotel is mid-range for the island, with a small workout area and tables on the third-floor patio. I had a room with AC, which was nice for cooling down and relaxing. It’s about a five-minute walk to the pier and party beach. It’s a little noisy until around 1 AM, though I think that’s common in this part of the island. For somewhere fancier and quieter, you’d need to stay away from the action and take a boat taxi. I didn’t want that hassle. I’d recommend this hotel.
